The Fall, Eastside Baptist Church will be offering a series of classes entitled “Understanding Dementia”. Many people in our congregations have spouses, parents or loved ones who have been diagnosed with Dementia or are showing symptoms of the illness. This series will help educate and give support to these family members and friends. These classes will be led by experts in the field of dementia and aging. Here is a look at the schedule:
Thursday, August 29 – What is normal aging and what is Dementia?
Thursday, September 19 – Dementia Live, a hands on experience
Thursday, October 10 – Living Well with Dementia
Thursday, October 24 – Giving Care and the fundamentals of caring for a loved one with Dementia
After the series is complete, we will start a support group for those with loved ones who are suffering with Dementia.
These classes will take place at Eastside Baptist Church in the Student Center (which is attached to The Hutchinson Center) on their Lower Roswell Campus at 2450 Lower Roswell Road. These classes will be from 6:00 – 7:00, to allow our Seniors to not have to be out after dark. To register for this series, go to www.followeastside.com/hutch and click on the registration link under the Understanding Dementia announcement.
If you have any questions about these classes, contact Tim McDaniel at 678-298-5830.
