Storehouse was blessed with the Vacation Bible School Food Drive and received lots of donations. Storehouse assisted 335 households, 1,203 individuals, 229 senior adults, and 618 children. 27,055 pounds of food and 392 boxes were distributed.
Purchasing food from the Atlanta Community Food Bank is still an ongoing challenge. However, Walmart, Costo, Panera Bread, Big Lots, and sometimes Kroger helps tremendously. Storehouse is eternally grateful for the donations from the Noonday churches and individuals.
STOREHOUSE TESTIMONY
A dear lady called and requested food. She was literally sobbing. She said she had just been released from the hospital due to cancer, was receiving chemotherapy, her daughter and 3 children had moved in with her, her daughter’s husband had left suddenly, and she had no food. I assured her that we can provide food for her immediately through Roswell Street Baptist Church. She could not stop thanking me. I asked her if I could pray with her. She said, “Oh would you please? I do not know where to turn.” I assured her that Christ Jesus is always by her side. I told her that He knows everything she is experiencing and to not give up hope. I prayed. She cried and prayed with me. I encouraged her to call Storehouse anytime she needs prayer. I also gave additional resource numbers to her. This testimony is NOT ABOUT Susan Roundtree. It is NOT about this lady. IT IS ABOUT THE POWER AND LOVE OF CHRIST JESUS. Storehouse is very thankful for the food pantry churches and outstanding volunteers who minister to neighbors in need like “Jane”. They are the hands and feet of our loving CHIRST.
NOTE OF APPRECIATION
On July 17, 2024, I submitted my resignation. Of all the places God has allowed me to serve, Storehouse (Noonday) has been my favorite. I LOVE IT. However, God is moving my Philip and me to Louisiana to be near our family. Please be assured that you will remain in our prayers. I will miss everyone tremendously. The Noonday staff family and Storehouse volunteers are priceless. I have received incredible wisdom from the leadership of Rev. Daryl Price and Rev. Randy Elster. My last day of official service at Storehouse will be July 31, 2024. However, I have asked to work pro bono as long as is needed via phone and email.
My Philip and I covet your prayers during this transition. Please pray specifically that we can connect with a church home immediately. We are excited to see how we can show Christ’s love in Louisiana.
