A Day with Curt Thompson, MD
Friday, March 7, 9:00am-2:00pm, Perimeter Church, Johns Creek
It is easy for us as mental health providers to succumb to the mechanistic way of imagining that our work is fundamentally that of diagnosing and treating mental/emotional disorders. And, although it is true that we do in fact treat such conditions, our primary mission is that of becoming purveyors of wisdom. But the journey to becoming embodied wisdom on behalf of our patients is one in which we clinicians must receive as much care as we provide for those with whose pain we are present. This workshop will explore the intersection of interpersonal neurobiology, spiritual formation, and the fundamental ways in which the work we do leads not only to the flourishing of the patients we treat, but to our own as well.
