Storehouse News: March 2024

Feb 28, 2024 | Articles

January was a very busy and exciting time at Storehouse. A total of 403 households were assisted, which included 323 seniors, 793 children, and 1,309 individuals. 26,470 pounds of food were distributed, and 735 sack lunches were provided to our homeless neighbors in need.

Storehouse partnered with Kennesaw First Baptist Church (KFBC) to place a food pantry in one of the local middle schools. A total of 121 boxes along with hygiene products were delivered to the school and assisted many students and their families in need. Kennesaw First Baptist Church placed shelves in their food pantry room. We will continue to supply this food pantry room as needed. Feeding these students and their families is another wonderful way for us to give the love of Christ to our community.

In addition to helping a local middle school, we partnered with Sandy Plains Baptist Church to provide granola bars and crackers to a local elementary school. We are thrilled to have these additional outreach opportunities.

It was indeed an honor to have The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corp Firehawk Sqaudron 2745 and volunteers from Zion Baptist Church pack boxes and stock shelves on two separate Saturday mornings for Storehouse. Our volunteers who stock shelves, pack boxes, answer telephones, and deliver food along with the food pantries are the core of this ministry. Their faithful service is incredible.

STOREHOUSE JANUARY STORY
When Storehouse learned that there are 35 schools in Cobb County with students at risk for food, we immediately began praying about what we can do to minister to them. Through the generosity of so many servants, Storehouse was able to provide the basic essentials (soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and food) to some of these dear families in need. One of the middle school counselors reached out to KFBC Executive Pastor Marc Amason, who contacted Storehouse. Storehouse immediately knew we needed to act quickly to secure food, etc. for these families. We are the conduits for CHRIST JESUS and provide so much more than a jar of peanut butter and a can of meat.

It is the heartfelt goal of Storehouse to always look for ways we can expand this ministry and shower the blessings of Christ to others. Please join us in this prayer.
